Daily Routine Santa Barbara

// New Age, New Goals//

Earlier this month I celebrated my 22nd birthday and you know what, It feels great! I think this year has been my best birthday thus far.

I am so lucky to have such good friends!

But with a new age comes new goals. Here are my top FIVE for this year:

1. Land an internship— gain the experience and lay of the land I need to succeed.

2. Travel outside of the U.S.—last September’s trip to Bali was an unbelievable experience, save up and make it happen!

3. Get invoved at UCSB— I have worked so hard to get here, its time to utilize the school and network as much as possible. Time is running out, just 3 quarters left and I am done!

4. Save, Save, Save! All paychecks and one days worth of tips per week

5.It I recently read advice from a 16th century philospher, Erasmus.

He claimes that the modern, respectable person should abide by these rules

According to Erasmus, you should not…

1. gossip
2. tell unkind stories
3. boast
4. indulge in self-display
5. seek to defeat others in argument
6. interrupt people when they tell a story
7. be too inquisitive

// If you’re going to San Francisco..//

This weekend Evan and I took an impromtu road trip to San Francisco for the 101st Bay to Breakers. We drove up with a few friends and enjoyed all the good food and funky vibes the city has to offer. Getting out of Santa Barbara was a nice change of scenery and really got me thinking how important it is to travel. To immerse yourself in other places, cultures, foods and lifestyles. Although we only went for one night, It was refreshing to meet new people, explore new places and spend quality time with friends.

My new summer goal is to take one weekend trip per month. Living in California I have the opportunity to drive such short distances and surround myself in a compeltely different atomoshphere. Next stop Big Sur for Purity Ring!

The weather in SB has been so gorgeous these past few days and the sunsets have been unreal, Madi and I even hiked Inspiration Point.

// San Diego Rock & Roll Marathon//

After two half marathons I have finally decided to commit to running a full marathon, 26.2 miles to be exact. I knew I couldn’t do it alone so I have decided to join team in training, a non profit organization dedicated to raising money to fund cancer research. As part of the team they will be training me and supporting me every step of the way, in return I will be responsible for raining $2,200. Although this number overwhelms me at the moment I think this will be an incredible journey and challenge that I am definitely up for. Needless to say I am excited to do something positive for the others and cant wait to start training!
